I got a new Electric guitar called a Les Paul. I got it around a month ago but i guess i can call it new. The guitar is a Gibson and the things i like about it are the pick ups. a Pick up catches vibrations and it converts them into a electrical signal. It can be amplified and recorded.

The neck is week and easy to break but if you don’t drop it or hit it with something, it will be probably fine. It is easy to break because the neck is bent.

The frets are thick and is harder to play than a standard guitar but if you get used to it, its easier to play. When you amplify the guitar, the sound is fantastic.

there are different pickups for different guitars.

(Sorry it was only picture i could find)

This is the Gibson Les Paul Standard 2008. There are a few different things about this guitar and the one from the 50s.

The Head, Strap Bottons, Pannel, Bridge, and the Jack are different

Sorry its cut

They changed the Jack (The hole you put the cord in) because before at live concerts, the cord sometimes gets pulled out and the sound cuts off. The new Jack is made to put in the cord, and you have to push the red trigger to pull the cord out. This makes it not pulling out in live concerts. The bad thing about the new jack is that if it breaks, it takes much more money to fix than the older one.

They have also changed the strap botton into a little bit bigger one so the guitar doesnt fall of the strap. There is a botton like metal that you put on the strap botton after putting on the strap on the guitar. This way it would not fall off while playing.

My life as a Tiny kid
One day, me, Gaz Woke up and I found myself in the middle of the forest. I tried not to get scared because I was, well I think I am brave. I did not know why and how I came here. I looked around the forest and I see huge trees. “I’ve never seen trees this big!” I walk around for a while and think the forest is cool but I soon realized something is wrong. I try getting out of the forest but I couldn’t find the exit. Just then, there was a big wobble. I thought it was an earthquake at first, but it wobbled again and again. “What is making the floor shake?” In no time, I got scared but I was brave so I started walking as if nothing happened. Soon the shaking stopped. He walked a little more and at last, I found the exit. When I came out of the forest, I saw a giant man sitting on a huge bench.

“What the?!” I saw everything giant. At first I thought the whole world turned bigger, but I soon realized I was wrong. I was tiny! He stood there shocked. The ground wobbled again. He looked around and there was the same huge man walking toward him. I dived back into the forest just before the man stepped on me. “If everything is huge, that means this place isn’t a forest! It’s a bush!” He walked a little deeper into the bush to see where he was. “Where am I? Where is my house? Why am I tiny?” I rested and thought of why I was tiny. While I was thinking, I started feeling a little sleepy. “Oh yeah, I didn’t sleep much last night.” I soon fell asleep. “Hey! Wake up!” I opened my eyes. There was a boy there about the same age as me. “Who are you?”. “My name is Guzzo. I woke up here and explored the forest. I looked for an exit but I couldn’t find it. I came back here and I saw you. So, what’s your name?” “My name’s Gaz, I also woke up here.” Then Guzzo says “Do you know where this forest is? There really big trees here” I knew what this place is so I explain it to him. “This isn’t a forest. It’s just a bush.” “WHAT?! This place is a bush?!” I explained everything I know to Guzzo. After the complicating story, I takes Guzzo to the exit of the bush and Guzzo says “Wow! We became so tiny!”. “I am trying to figure out why and how we became small.” Then Guzzo says, “Well, Let’s not just stay in the bush! Why don’t we walk around and see where we are.” “What?! If we get out of this bush, we will be stepped on or ran over!” “But I don’t agree said Guzzo. If we just stay here we will starve and we will die from thirst”. After much debate, I soon agreed to Guzzo. Just when we were going to head out, I felt water on my head. Then a drop of water fell on Guzzo’s head as well and he says. “Oh no, it’s starting to rain. Let’s rest in the bush until tomorrow.” So we did. “Gaz, Wake up. We’re going to leave soon.” So I woke up and walked out the bush. It was early in the morning when we left so not many people were walking around outside. I said “we should find somewhere to hide.” “yeah lets go and look for shelter. While we were searching for a place to rest, I heard my stomach rumble. “Guzzo, I’m getting hungry.” “Yeah I’m also getting kind of hungry. Let’s go find food before we find shelter. As we were walking, there was a great tasty smell of bread. “Guzzo! Do you smell that? It’s the smell of a bakery! Should we sneak in and take some bread?” “I’m not going to steal from the bakery because it’s not the right thing.” Said Guzzo. “Okay. I won’t steal either. We walked and walked but we couldn’t find anywhere to rest. I was too hungry to walk another step. “I don’t think we’re going to make it Guzzo”. “Don’t give up. We will find somewhere to rest.” “I went a little further but I then, I couldn’t stand. I fell onto the floor. I felt like I was going to die. “Guzzo, I might die…” I closed my eyes.

“Gaz, wake up! You’re going to be late for school!” I opened my eyes and saw my mom wake me up. She said “Get dressed and come down stairs for breakfast.” I thought to myself, That was the weirdest dream I ever had. And so, my normal life started again.

On friday April 3rd, I am going to a live concert of Sum 41 in Tokyo. I couldn’t find the ticket so my guitar teacher found a ticket for me. I was really desperate to go to the live because its the first Sum 41 live for me. My guitar teacher bout 2 tickets so I might go with my friend. My friend is also really desperate to go to the live concert. The live is going to be in a place called Tokyo Zepp. The Guitarist is called Deryck Whibley. He is 28 years old. He started playing guitar when he was 14 years old. I like him the most in the band. I also like the drummer and the bass player. The drummer is called Steve Jocz. He is 27 years old. The bass player is called Jason McCaslin. I like them both but not as much as Deryck. He makes the songs and sings most of the songs. I like most songs from this band. There used to be a Guitarist called Dave Baksh. He left in 2007. After he left, The band changed a little bit. I think Dave was the best guitarist I have ever seen.

I think drawing characters for a comic strip is very important. I think i shows what kind of situation they are in and it also can make you feel it happening. It is probably hard to draw for a lot of people so this website will hopefully help you for drawing cartoons. The website has ways of drawing a lot of cartoons. In this website, you can see how to draw some parts of the cartoon so it makes it easier. This website will tell you advice on writing the comic strips.

When you use captions or speech bubbles, you have to show what they are thinking and show what is happening. It helps the reader understand the story a little more by reading what the characters say. The sentences should be simple and easy to read so it is understandable.

I think “Calvin and Hobbes” comic strips are very good because they are great pictures and the story is easy to understand. “Calvin and Hobbes”, is one of my favorite comics because it is funny and simple. There are some comic strips that are mostly about his imagination like this strip.

My favorite anime book is called “Full Metal Alchemist”. This book is great because the story is exciting and the drawing are fantastic. The story is about this kid called Edward. He has a brother called Alphonse. They use spells and they are called Alchemist. Edward lost his mother by illness when he was still small. The 2 of them tried in order to get her back with a special spell, but they fail and Alphonse lost his whole body for it. Edward did not want to lose his brother too so he sacrificed his left leg. Alphonse is just a soul in a armor now.

Call of Duty 3 is more like world war 2 and Call of Duty 4 is more modern. I liked #4 because it had more wars and more weapons. There are some sad scenes and I hated the ending of #4. I liked the ending of #3 because it was not violent. My other favorite game is called “Smash Brothers X”. In this game, you can fight against 3 people and you can also be in teams. You can also play an adventure mode. I recommend this game if you like fighting games.

Today, I would like to talk about this movie that I saw during my winter break. It is an old movie called “Enter he Dragon” starring Bruce Lee. I watched this movie because my brother told me about how amazing the movie was. So, when my brother came back from Canada, we bought the movie and watched it together. Bruce Lee was an unknown, Chinese martial artist from Hong Kong. This was his first big hit movie and made Bruce Lee famous all over the world. The story was simple and straight forward. That’s not the reason this movie became a classic. This movie is considered a classic because of Bruce Lee’s incredible martial art skills. His actions and movements are so fast and powerful that sometimes i cannot follow the movements with my eyes. Besides, he did not use any stuntmen. He did all of the scenes himself. When I first saw it, I thought they were doing tricks. But no, it was all his own skills. I liked this movie very much because i am learning a martial art, karate, myself so his fighting scenes are great. however, the one bad thing about this movie is maybe there are too many violent fighting scenes. But, I don’t really care. I like it. Bruce Lee is maybe the best and strongest marial artist I have ever seen.

I recommend this movie highly, if you like to see a true martial artist in action with no gimmicks. Can you believe that this movie is over 30 years old?? They did not have computer graphics back then. Can you believe that? You have to see it to believe it!

We interviewed teachers and asked them a few question. The teachers we interviewed were Ms. Nadeau, Mr. Neary, Ms Kar, Ms. Gerrish and Mr. Tracey.

I think we should have field studies because you get to do new things that you couldn’t do. There are some bad parts like not getting to play electronics and I missed playing with my cat. I hated the first day because sleeping in the tent was so cold. The best part was doing things that are exciting like Mountain biking, rock climbing and canoeing. I liked that we get to be with our friends and get to be in the same room.

So I think we should keep field studies.
